Oceania Netball is deeply saddened to learn of the very sudden passing of our President and World Netball Regional Director Wainikiti (Kiti) Bogidrau.
Kiti has been an integral part of the Netball Family for many years and during this time has made many friends and has held a number of crucial leadership roles, which have led to significant developments within Fiji, the Oceania region and within World Netball.
Kiti began her netball administration journey over 20 years ago and served as the President of Netball Fiji from 2010 to 2020. During this time Kiti was an inspirational leader whose passion and impact was felt by all those within Fiji and beyond.
A pivotal presence in both Fiji and Oceania, Kiti was then elected as President of Oceania Netball at their 2019 Annual General Meeting and following this was appointed to the World Netball Board at Congress in 2019 as Director of the Oceania region and has been a vital part of the World Netball Board since.
Kiti had a true love for netball, playing throughout her life and spectating whenever time permitted, alongside her many administration roles. Her unwavering commitment to the game has left an indelible mark on netball in Oceania.
Kiti will be dearly missed but remembered fondly by all of the Netball Family. Kiti will always be remembered for her friendship, gentle personality and thoughtful reflections that helped shape netball in our region.
On behalf of Oceania Netball and our Netball Family all over the world, we offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
